Student from Lao Cai Province achieved absolute score at ASMO 2019

ASMO is the International Olympiad for Science, Math and English, held annually in many countries around the world including Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei, Singapore, Thailand, ... ASMO 2018 was held in Thailand with a total of 40,000 contestants, in Malaysia with a total of 19,000 contestants, Singapore with 9,000 contestants. This is the first time ASMO has been organized in Vietnam and Research Institute of Creative Education (RICE) is the exclusive partner authorized by the ASMO Organizing Committee to organize and select candidates to take part in this exam. The final round are held each year alternately in member countries.
In 2019, the final round is held in Hunan, China. Candidates must pass two tests including an individual round and a team round. The questions are high in academic and practical terms. The jury of this competition are famous scientists and experts from around the world.

Vietnamese delegation selected, trained and led by RICE has won 2 Gold Medals, 4 Silver Medals, 3 Bronze Medals and the First Prize in Mathematics for Team Round. In particular, Nguyen Viet Hoang - student of class 7B, Le Quy Don Secondary School, Lao Cai City won a Gold Medal in Mathematics with an absolute score of 100/100.

Nguyen Viet Hoang - a student at Le Quy Don Secondary School, Lao Cai City, took the Math exam for Upper Primary ages and excelled with a perfect score of 100/100. Attending ASMO 2019, Viet Hoang continuously won the Gold Medal through 2 national rounds and in the "last game", the boy contributed to the honor of Vietnam's educational achievements. Nguyen Viet Hoang is one of 10 students in Lao Cai who won the National Gold Medal, then selected to take part in the ASMO 2019 Final Round. He is one of the two students of the Vietnamese delegation to win the Gold Medal in Mathematics.
Born in a family with a tradition of studying science subjects, his father is a mathematics teacher and his mother is a chemistry teacher at Lao Cai Specialized High School. From a young age, Viet Hoang proved to be a boy with outstanding learning ability, known for the National Gold Medal of National Childhood Mathematics of 2017-2018; First Prize in Mathematics at city level in 2018 – 2019, grade 6; First Prize of IOE at the provincial level, Second Prize of Violympic Mathematics at provincial level, grade 3; First Prize in Mathematics at the Provincial Mathematics Level in Vietnam, First Prize of Violympic in English Mathematics, grade 4; Second Prize of Computer Sciences at the city level, Second Prize of English at city level, First Prize of Cambridge English Exam in Lao Cai province organized by Ocean Edu with a scholarship of over 30 million VND while studying in grade 5.
After the victory, Viet Hoang - a boy born in 2007 humbly asserted that he was just an ordinary 7th grade student, not a genius. He has won the ASMO 2019 thank to his great efforts and passion for mathematics.
